WORKSHOP

“Metamaterials for 5G/6G & Energy: Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces & Energy-Harvesting Architectures

We bring together leading academic scientists and researchers!

October 6th, 2026      1pm - 5pm

Scope of the event

Metamaterials engineered at micro- and nano-scale exhibit electromagnetic properties not found in nature. They enable reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) to enhance 5G/6G signal propagation and support energy harvesting technologies.

This workshop explores electromagnetic wave manipulation, fabrication methods, telecom integration, and emerging energy applications.

Academic experts will present advanced modeling of programmable metasurfaces. Industry leaders will showcase telecom deployment. Policy representatives will address spectrum and infrastructure standards.

The goal is to connect materials science with next-generation communication infrastructure.

Key Takeaways & Outputs

• Principles of electromagnetic metamaterials

• RIS for 5G/6G optimization

• Energy harvesting materials

• Fabrication challenges

• Telecom regulatory alignment

• Industrial case studies
