WORKSHOP PROGRAM 2026
Additive manufacturing: from Innovation to industrial transformation
Workshop Series Overview
This workshop series explores how Additive Manufacturing (AM) is evolving from a prototyping technology into a key driver of industrial innovation, sustainability, and digital manufacturing. As industries seek greater flexibility, resource efficiency, and resilient supply chains, AM is transforming product design, production, and business models across sectors such as aerospace, automotive, energy, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.
The programme examines the latest advances in industrial-scale production, metal and multi-material printing, Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), artificial intelligence, digital twins, automation, and hybrid manufacturing systems. It also addresses sustainable manufacturing through material efficiency, circular economy approaches, and low-carbon production, while highlighting the role of distributed manufacturing in strengthening supply chain resilience.
Additional topics include bioprinting and medical applications, embedded electronics, standardisation, certification, quality assurance, and regulatory frameworks necessary for large-scale industrial adoption.
Bringing together leading researchers, industry experts, equipment manufacturers, and policymakers, the series provides participants with a strategic understanding of emerging technologies, current challenges, and future opportunities in additive manufacturing. It aims to accelerate technology transfer, foster collaboration between academia and industry, and support the deployment of innovative, sustainable, and competitive manufacturing solutions.
